Mehrangarh Fort, Jodhpur

The Fort of Sonar Killa, Jaisalmer

This elegant fort was built in 1156 AD by the Rajput ruler Rawal Jaisal from whom it derives the name – Jaisalmer Fort. This famous world heritage site is situated in the city of Jaisalmer. The imposing golden hued or Sonar Killa that is balanced artistically atop the 80 meters high on Trikuta Hill is the star attraction of the fort. This structure creates an illusion of coming out of a rock in an undulating sea of sand. Jurassic sandstone has been used in erecting the fort with base bordered by a wall of hard stone.

Junagarh Fort, Bikaner Rajasthan

Junagarh Fort, Bikaner is a unique demonstration of composite culture. The fort is completes illustration of architecture design of the Rajput style of the sixteenth century which was then under the impact of the Mughal architectural design. The credit for the outstanding structure goes to Raja Jai Singh who builds an invincible fort in 1588 AD. Some of the notable monuments within the fort premises are Anoop Mahal, Rang Mahal and Ganga Niwas. Tourists can visit famous Har Mandir where members of royal family worshipped.
